Holy Baptism

The word “baptise” comes from a Greek word meaning to ‘dip or immerse in water’. Baptism is also known as ‘christening’ because through it, the child becomes a Christian – that is, a follower of Christ and a member of the local and worldwide Christian family, the Church. Baptisms are held when the Parish Family gathers at Sunday services but from time to time pastoral arrangements can be made for other times.

Baptism can happen at any age. What matters is that those concerned believe that it is the right decision. You can only be baptised once, but there are other ways of renewing your commitment as an adult, and we would gladly discuss these with you.

Weddings

Weddings can either be held in a church or outside in a park or other public area.

If you would like an outdoor wedding, you will need to check with the Sunshine Coast Regional Council as to whether the place and time of your proposed wedding is available.

Funerals

Funerals are usually arranged through the Funeral Directors. If you would like an Anglican Minister to officiate at a funeral, please let the Funeral Directors know.

If you know a loved one would like to be anointed prior to death, or at the time of death, please contact one of our Parish Clergy.

First Communions

First Communion for children aged 8 years and older occurs around June each year. Please contact the parish office if you would like to have your child placed on the candidates list.

Home Communions

The clergy and a team of liturgical assistants are available to bring Holy Communion to members of our community who are unable to join us at Church, either short or long term.

Confirmation

Confirmation of baptism vows occurs for children in Year 8 or older and for adults at any stage. Confirmation takes place with the Bishop during their annual visit.

Confession

Confession can be arranged at any time by contacting the Rector.
